There’s a bug on the Xbox.com marketplace that could lead you to unwittingly purchase a full game, even though you intended t download a demo. In a video nicely captured by the gentlemen from Giantbomb, they show just how the glitch works.

If you happen to click on a marketplace link for a trial while you’re logged out, the marketplace link after you sign in magically switches to the full paid version of the game – and if you happen to not be paying much attention, you could end up buying and queuing full games instead of demos. The wording on the marketplace makes it especially easy to get duped; whether you’re buying a game or just downloading a demo, the button to do so says “confirm purchase.”

Microsoft is aware of the issue, and is at work fixing the issues.

“We are aware of this issue and the team is actively working to resolve it,” said a Microsoft spokesperson told Giantbomb. “We appreciate your patience and apologize for any inconvenience.”

Of course, the tinfoil-hatted among you believe it’s a devilishly devious dick move from Microsoft to make a little extra cash.
