PSP2 confirmed by EA Games

Patrick Soderland has accidently confirmed the worst kept secret in the gaming industry. When interviewed by CVG Patrick was asked whether EA has had any exposure to the PSP2 as yet.

This is the sort of question every media outlet has been asking every developer / exec they have come across to try and get confirmation about the PSP2 but up until now they are normally just fobbed off.

However instead of Patrick denying any knowledge of the PSP2 he responded.

“Well, obviously as a developer we have had that – but I’m not allowed to talk about it”

That’s all we have but it’s enough to confirm that the PSP2 is in the wild and preparing for a release.

I hope someone has convinced Sony that the PSP2 requires 2 analogue sticks, that’s pretty much the only thing I am hoping for.

I read somewhere that the two analogue sticks were confirmed, can’t remember where though.

The word on the street is that it has a multitouch touchpad on it that allows you to use both of your thumbs as if it was dual analog. I wonder how well that would work.
