Rockband sponsors music festival

Apparently some people have started to worry that we were actually not going to be getting an EU (Others) PAL RockBand release.

I have absolutely no idea how this came about and how any self respecting journalist or fanboy could believe it but there you have it.

Anyway if you are a part of the doubting crowd then hopefully this will ease your worries. There is an upcoming music festival in Shoredith, London that is being sponsored by none other than Rockband and interested parties including Xbox 360.

What is noticeable by it’s absence though is a Playstation logo, so has Microsoft just one-upped their competition or is this a sign that possibly the PAL version of Rockband for the PS3 has been delayed?

I would be quite happy to put money on an announcement of a PS3 delay before June.

I doubt it Gav. PS3 code is done signed sealed and already released.

It’s more likely Microsoft is paying for cobranding after what happened with Assassins Creed. (European advertising failed to mention it was on both systems and sales suffered) I expect we’ll start to see a lot more of this sort of thing, like “jump in” GTA4 ads.

I’m not surprised that they started doubting the PAL version though. Not sure what exactly is the delay. The game is out, the PAL version is ready. But the release date has slipped from 9 March, to 15 April to “TBA”. (Latest rumour say 9 May, but unconfirmed.)

As for the Rock Band flyer you got above. That just means that this event is hosted by EA and Microsoft.

While i agree with doobi’s reason for it being unlikely that PS3 PAL will slip, it is still possible due to the peripherals needed for the game.

I think the instruments are responsible fo rhe delays globally. It’s one heck of a thing to produce, they’ll probably running at full tilt and still can’t meet American demand. Consider every person that bought guitar hero probably wants Rock band as well.
