Rumor Killer: No MGS4 on 360

Damn it, it seems like Konami has been taking PR lessons from Epic and have finally come out with an unambiguous statement about the pending 360 port of Metal Gear Solid 4.

While previously they were happy to make statements like “Not at this time”, or “right now we are working on the PS3” it seems they have had a change of mind.

The most recent comment on this persistent rumour

For the record, Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots is a PlayStation 3 exclusive and there are no plans to develop an Xbox 360 version of the game

You can’t really argue with that… or can you?

Hmm, this doesn’t smash the other rumour though That the 360 is getting a completely different MGS game, like Konami did with “Twin snakes”. 😉

Hey, Lazy, this is the part where you say…: “PillsburyDeeBoy, I owe it to you, ‘YOU WERE RIGHT'”. Try it…it won’t hurt. I promise. 🙂

It wasn’t even a prediction to be perfectly honest. It was just reasoned judgement. We all know that the PS3 has been going in and out of life support for the last year – in comparison to the ridiculous success of the PS2 – but Metal Gear along with Final Fantasy is the biggest 3rd party exclusive they have. Imagine if Microsoft didn’t publish Gears and Halo and they were published by 3rd parties – Do you think Microsoft would let those games slide before closing miniature divisions to fund their exclusivity 🙂 ? I think not. Sony paid KONAMI huge bucks behind closed doors – Ryan Patten will never deny that.

I wonder if those conversations started something like “Well Rockstar got $50 Million for a bit of DLC . . . ” 😉

Wow didn’t see that coming :-D. Actually I played the first MGS loved it, back in the day, but to be honest there are far, far, far better games out now. Lately it seems Sony is pulling a Nintendo, lets keep dusting off old franchises here guys :-D.

Far far far better games like? MGS is an experience that you will not see on any game available on the Xbox.

A game unlike any other except, O, 3 or so Splinter Cells and a few Syphon filters?

Admittedly their stories were far more conventional and fathomable . . . . 😉
