This week we posted up the news that Sony had patented a way to emulate the Playstation 2’s emotion engine so that backwards compatibility could become a reality on the Playstation 3 once more.
Well, German website Demon News are claiming that a Sony employee has told them that the backwards compatibility is going to be available in “the next few weeks”.
Awesome, no? It also looks highly possible, but we may have to wait a little longer than the US.
The employee also said that the backwards compatibility would be coming to US PS3’s as a firmware update. This means that if what he is saying is true, then we will probably only see the update at a little bit of a later stage, but hopefully not too long.
I hope this is true, and if it is then I had better start looking around for those copies of God of War II and Shadow of the Colossus that I have wanted to play for such a long time.

I’ve got an idea. How about people use this thread to have the exact same fight they have in every other thread (apart from the ones where people are arguing whether or not Trey arch are s**t). That’s be cool.
