Oh dear…those of you who’ve been patiently waiting for your copies of the sexy Hero edition of Sucker Punch’s super-hero sandbox are in for some bad news; news that nearly warrants the raising of pitchforks and forming an angry mob. It seems, that for some reason, we’ll not be getting the Hero Edition locally at all.

According to retailers – namely Zaps and BTGames  – the Hero Edition’s release in South Africa has been cancelled, and those who pre-ordered the game and downgrade to the available editions will be given a R200 PSN voucher as a peace offering; though one has to wonder if this is enough. Gamers are a funny bunch – and they like getting and playing games on release; they can accept a delay on a collector’s edition they rally want but when – a week after general release – they’re casually informed that they should have opted for lesser editions they tend to get a little upset.

We’ve tried contacting the supplier for comment, but for some reason they don’t seem to be answering their phones.

Right then…how many of you are waiting for the Hero Edition that’ll never arrive? How angry ARE you?

Editor. I’m old, grumpy and more than just a little cynical. One day, I found myself in possession of a NES, and a copy of Super Mario Bros 3. It was that game that made me realise that games were more than just toys to idly while away time – they were capable of being masterpieces. I’m here now, looking for more of those masterpieces.
