Seaman’s hitting your 3DS

Seaman on SEGA’s ill-fated Dreamcast was a weird, weird game. Essentially a sort of virtual pet, it saw players raise a fish with an eerie humanoid face from flagellum to amphibious, man-faced frog thing – all with the delightful narration of Star Trek’s Leonard Nimoy. You could speak to Seaman, using the Dreamcast’s microphone, and have him hurl insults in your general direction. Rightfully, it was named as one of GameInformer’s weirdest games of all time.

And it’s headed to the 3DS.

According to Andriasang, Nikkei reports that the legendary and legendarily odd game will be re-hatched on Nintendo’s handheld – along with a host of other as yet unnamed IP’s from consoles past. Seaman’s creator Yoot Saito hinted in June 2010 that Seaman could appear on 3DS – and it looks like that might be happening.

It’s great news for fans of the original games, but will probably leave newcomers scratching their chins wondering just what the hell they’re looking it. But that’s it; Seaman’s hitting your 3DS.

Which, I suppose, is better than semen hitting your 3ds.
