It was only a matter of time before everyones favourite square-jawed,gun-toting,witty banter spewing tough guy returned. Also, Serious Sam is back.

Serious Sam:BFE is heading our way later this year, and fans are being assured that all the gameplay features we’ve come to know and love has remained intact. Shooting down the sights of a barrel? Please, Sam doesn’t need no stinkin’ reflex sights, except for that one gun it seems.

Taking cover to avoid fire? What are you, a coward? C’mon, only p*ssies hide behind a wall.Real men go in head first when the bullets start flying. Likewise with the weapon inventory, Sam isn’t limited to only being able to carry two or three guns at a time. He’s got tons of firepower and the magically deep pockets to support it, and thats the way it should be.

New to the series is the inclusion of a melee attack .From simple smacks from a rifle to full on crowd clearing attacks using a sledgehammer. Its going to be needed as well, as the enemies seem to be more relentless than ever. If you plan on hiding from them while you regenerate some health, don’t bank on it,as the newly destructible environments mean that all manner of nasty creatures are going to go through bricks and concrete to get to you.

Considering that developer Croteam is a smaller team when compared to industry giants such as Blizzard and Rockstar, its amazing how good the latest Serious Sam game is looking, especially when compared to past iterations of the title. Creatures are now fantastically detailed, levels are beautiful to look at before being completely obliterated thanks to stray rockets, and the blood flows realistically when faced with wave after wave of assault troops.

Serious Sam is shaping up to be a beautifully simplistic run and gun game backed by a fantastic graphical engine. Serious Sam 3:BFE is scheduled for a summer 2011 release.

Something wrong gentlemen? You come here prepared to read the words of a madman, and instead found a lunatic obsessed with comics, Batman and Raul Julia’s M Bison performance in the 1994 Street Fighter movie? Fine! Keep your bio! In fact, now might be a good time to pray to it!
