Shadow of the Colossus us getting a great big remake. One of the best games from the PlayStation 2 is getting a proper makeover – with shiny new visuals. It’s being developed by Bluepoint games, the port factory that helped resurrect the Uncharted games for the Nathan Drake Collection.

It looks incredible, featuring the colossi, exploration, Wander, and Argo the horse – but we know little else about the remake or what’s been changed. Like just about everything else Sony showed, it’s out early in 2018.

Editor. I’m old, grumpy and more than just a little cynical. One day, I found myself in possession of a NES, and a copy of Super Mario Bros 3. It was that game that made me realise that games were more than just toys to idly while away time – they were capable of being masterpieces. I’m here now, looking for more of those masterpieces.

My favourite PS2 game getting a remake is a lot better than getting backwards compatibility. The controls wasn’t friendly back then and would irritate me now. Hope they fix it.

Those controls were made for the PS1. If they upgrade that I would love to show my daughter this game. It is right up her wheelhouse. Very artsy and still a good game.
