Earlier this year, Korean electronics manufacturer LG tried to ban the sale of PS3’s in Europe and America, going so far as seizing European shipments and even raiding people’s homes. The reason for LG’s chagrin and muscly litigious strong-arming is an alleged patent dispute regarding the Blu-ray drive that all PlayStation 3’s feature.

Sony, obviously unhappy, claimed LG infringed on its own patents with its  televisions and mobile phones, kicking of a round of patent prosecution ping-pong.

After failing to renew a “technology sharing agreement” that expired three years ago, the tech giants have been embroiled in legal battle after legal battle. Well, they’ve now kissed and made up. "LG and Sony recently agreed to drop patent infringement lawsuits against each other," an LG spokeswoman confirmed. The two companies have also signed a cross-licencing dal, that should see this sort of litigation come to an end..until they forget to renew the deal, of course.
