Sony chief hails PS3's success in Europe

So Sir Howard Stringer has been talking to the Financial Times and between boasting about their fantastic launch and future endeavours he has mentioned that they have virtually sold 800 000 PS3’s in Europe.

That’s a lot of consoles in a month and if they keep going at anywhere close that that rate they will be closing in on the Wii and Xbox 360 very soon.

Sir Howard said Sony was close to selling 800,000 units in Europe. “I think [in] the first two days in the UK, £100m ($199m) revenue changed hands and that’s probably the largest consumer electronics sale in history.”
