Sony’s latest innovation.. a Wii-U clone

You’d think Sony would have learned from the lack lustre reception of the Move peripherals that directly copying Nintendo with slight improvements isn’t what we as gamers want.

I mean I hardly use my Kinect at all but I don’t think I’ve ever used the Move unless required to for review purposes. It’s a shiny wiimote with a horrendous software library.

But no, apparently Sony still feels that copying Nintendo directly is the key to regaining it’s number one spot and to do this it’s going to patent a copycat Wii-U controller with added functionality.

Ah but it’s not the same as the Wii-U is it, I mean it’s being held in a portrait positoin and the WIi-U is landscape. Also there is no console there so this is something entirely new obviously.

Oh wait there’s the console, well it’s still portrait so there.

Maybe I’m being a little harsh on Sony here as tablets do appear to be the way of the future and Sony may just be trying to secure some early patents to avoid future lawsuits but right now it’s not looking great for them.

I’d also strongly recommend not being the most expensive next-gen console, it really didn’t work out well last time.
