Sorry for the outage

I am sure you noticed that we were down earlier for a while.

At first it seemed to be due to a surge in real traffic but it quickly became apparent that we were under a Denial of  Service attack. Thankfully they didn’t succeed for long and Lazygamer.co.za now lives on a more powerful server to try avoid a repeat.

Hopefully things will be back to normal now and the site will be faster as well which is a bonus.

Once again apologies and yes were are investigating if it had anything to do with the new price increase story 🙂

    Nah not Gremlins. It was a highly unpleasant DoS attack…

    Still trying to see where it came from originally but I don’t rate my chances.

    I doubt it was a DDOS attack – it was probably just the traffic from N4G after the Army of Two review was linked to from there.

    @Miktar, That was the first presumption but on checking the logs it was not the case… N4G only sends a few thousand hits while we were receiving 1 hit ever 4 milliseconds…

    None of them had a referrer either
