Splinter Cell Conviction Delayed – We know why

Okay I’ll admit that the headline is a lie*, not the fact that Splinter Cell Conviction is delayed but that we know why.

I do however have some theories which are based on very little fact but lots of conjecture.

All we know for sure so far is that we aren’t going to be seeing Sam until early next year at the earliest.

Here are my top 5 reasons for the delay in whatever order they enter my skull.

  1. The game isn’t working and needs more polishing
  2. Sony are making a play for PS3 port
  3. Sam saw how good Uncharted looked and didn’t want to be put into competition with it
  4. Halo ODST – If it says Halo you hide from it
  5. Activision Oops Ubisoft is upset with the effect the recession is having on their bank balance and has now decided to hold some of it’s better titles back until the rest of the world has the money to afford them. It doesn’t make business sense to release a AAA title like Conviction at the same time as MW2.

Not that I think any of those points are more valid than the other or anything.

Honestly Conviction has been delayed so many times I am starting to wonder whether or not it is ever going to get released.

*or is it

PS: And Red Steel has also been delayed, but I am way more interested in Splinter Cell: Conviction

    Ghost Recon 3 also delayed.

I think Ubi is playing smart to release in the low compition months.

Assassins Creed 2 still this year?

    shock ‘n horror… a game that’s been delayed
seems to be all the rage nowadays.

btw, i’m liking the no.2 theory. highly unlikely though

I’m starting to think E3 has just been…. we got exclusive games that aren’t EVEN close to being release but we’ll tell people it is just to hype them up. Then when they least expect it, we say its been delayed. When it never was close to being finished anyways! HAHAHA

Why is everybody so afraid of MW2??? So far this festive season its MW2 vs Assassins creed 2 for me. Cant think of anything else I want now

I actually saw a video where they interviewed the
dev team during the runup to E3 and everybody’s sitting
there coding and saying what a scramble it is to get the
demo finished for the show. So you’re actually more right than you think.
