We’ve had those days. Those days where the world is just not clicking for you, and you happen upon a way to change that. For me that’s usually done with a large does of terrible fast food and some games, but for one little Skull Kid it was Majora’s Mask. A delightfully colourful but equally sinister looking creation that granted him the power to drop a moon on a city that rejected him. And now one that you can own too.

Majora’s Mask is arguably one of the best Legend of Zelda titles ever made, but it would be even harder to argue the sheer power of the mask’s imagery. It’s twisted, eye-catching and impossible to miss, which is why figurine makers First 4 Figures are creating the most definitive version of it. Coming in at a massive 63cm vertically, 58cm horizontal and weighing a whopping 8kg, this is a statue you’ll want to settle down into place and never, ever move.

Calling it a statue is a little disingenuous though, given how you’re able to transform it. Each of the spikes on the mask is magnetic and removable, and the deluxe version even features its own lighting system to make it stand out even more in the dark. The difference between the two is price though, and it’s not an easy pill to swallow either way you look at it. The normal, static version comes in at $355, while the fully lit up one kicks it up slightly to $385. And that’s before any shipping of any sort.

It’s expensive, but it’s also extremely limited. First 4 Figures is busy taking online orders now, and they’ll close in the next two weeks. They’ve not stated how many figurines are scheduled for production for later this year, but past experiences suggest that it’ll be extremely exclusive. Given that every figure comes with its own unique number and identifier, that’s to be expected.

It’s a piece of Zelda memorabilia that I’d love to own, and I’m immediately jealous of everyone who has the pleasure of capturing their own little bit of Majora’s magic.
