The beautiful concept art of Destiny

You saw them as picturised additions to the main article, but a mere 730 pixels of width doesn’t do the wonderful artwork of Destiny any justice. This is a game driven by the artistic vision of the studio, so here are some larger images with which to feast your peepers on.

I wish that I could have taken some pictures of the artwork inside the Bungie studios, but when you’re in a building patrolled by security that looks like it can do more harm to your spine than a radioactive chiropractor, minus the cash-sapping abilities, it pays to be cautious.

The only games I like from Bungie is the original Mac classic, Marathon. I rate that game higher than even Doom. The second is the first Halo and second Halo (I generally list these two games as one). Thereafter they’ve been producing junk. I know some here love Halo 3 and beyond, but I’ve always considered those games…. intellectually and emotionally devoid pile of puke.

So what does this mean for Destiny. At the moment, I’m intrigued but since Bungie hasn’t really made anything worthwhile (for me anyway) in almost a decade, I honestly have to say… I’m sceptical.

MMO? Bloody hell… then I have zero interest and it will probably be FUBARed. Only MMO I play these days is Guild Wars 2.

But… I wonder if the future for Destiny will include “private pirate” servers (much like WOW) and thus not pay a subscription… *flies evil Jim flag*

Um GW2 needs no subs… at all? We play frequently with totally legit copies I snagged in a MWEB goodies bag 😛

I meant WOW. You can play on “private servers”, rather than the official Blizzard subbed servers.

A buddy of mine is also a Tera-head. He loves it. I’d like to play it, but with only 8 or so hours of the day free for gaming, eating and snogging. I can only allocate 2 – 3 hours a day to gaming.

“Destiny is an always online experience, but it’s not an MMO.”

          Have you tried PlanetSide 2?

I haven’t been this keen on a game since Tiberian Sun, Baldur’s Gate II or Diablo II. I knew nothing of Destiny until yesterday.
