I saw this morning that the official PlayStation 3 blog had been updated with some firmware 2.0 information.

Now don’t shoot me if I am missing something but so far this firmware update is completely under whelming. According to Eric Lempel, Director of the PSN operations, the following great features are going to be in version 2.0

  1. Information Board – An RSS feed reader dedicated to Sony news and information
  2. The ability to turn your PS3 on remotely through a PSP (Cool)
  3. Themes
  4. Customised media playlists
  5. other features

Now I don’t know about you but I really hope that “other features” include an in game XMB, customised in game Music, maybe a freaking in game XMB like everyone has been begging you for since before the PS3 was released?

So who’s up for another huge download to get Themes?

It’s a very lame update. SONY really shot themselves in the foot by calling this one 2.00.

UPDATE: 2.0 has buggs. The info ticker freezes the console and online games do not work.

Another 100MB down the drain for SA folks. Will wait for 2.10. Sigh.
