Sure, you might be the King of Kong. You may be the sultan of Sonic or the Czar of Crash Bandicoot. But there can only be one Prince of Pac Man. With the latest record set for the iconic pellet-chomping game, it looks like no one will ever be able to dethrone current title-holder Dave Race of Ohio, as the American has soundly beaten the previous record.
The previous record, set by Race himself, was to finish the game with a score of 3 333 360 in the 255th level, at which point the game istelf calls it quits and resets. With a max score that can only go so high, the goal with Pac-fanatics is to reach it as quickly as possible.
Race originally beat his own record with a time 3hours, 33 minutes and 12.69 seconds, on an authentic Pac-Man arcade machine, squashing his previous attempt by over 55 seconds. You can catch the oddly-disturbing and grunt-heavy video of Race slugging it through, over here on the RecordSetter site.
In the mean time, I need to practice for my attempt at the Battletoads record, which means that I need to eat the breakfast of champions to get ready.
