The Star Trek Video game… the story

When I think of Star Trek video games I immediately think of 1313… yes that was the sound of a million trekkies and Star Wars fans screaming in unison about how wrong I am… But seriously I have to admit I haven’t been following this particular game,  but this latest video detailing the story behind the game has me interested.

The Star Trek video game is planning on being released next week and to prepare you to boldly go where no man has gone before, Namco has released the following video.

It’s nice to see that they have put a lot of thought into the story and how to make it worth with the existing Star Trek universe and yet still be entirely original.

So have you been following this game or are you more a George Lucas fan?

More a George Lucas fan, but he has also lost the plot after the original 3 Star Wars films. Now I see Disney want to bring out a new film every year. *Shudders*

Besides the films are always better than the games, what I’ve seen from the latest Star Trek actually looks pretty interesting.

It’s not meh, it’s retro. ;-). And the voices sounds as if they are speaking inside a class cubicle.

There is plenty of space in this world for Star Trek and Star Wars.

They are different in how they approach the whole Sci-fi thing. And I love Sci-fi, I have read many, many sci-fi books, from the masters of the 50’s and 60’s through to today. And Star Wars and Star Trek both tick, in my view the correct boxes. Albeit not always the same boxes

The interesting thing is, although a fan of both Trek and Wars, from a gaming perspective the one space-based game i am definitely looking forward to is Star Citizen. From what I have seen that is going to be epic in scale and running on Cry-Engine will have the eye candy to go along.

    Like Aliens, crock of shit….

    MASS EFFECT 3 BABY!!!!!!!!!

Oh I love Star Trek but I have been shouting my ass off on the comments since Mass Effect 2007 for a Star Trek game with the same quality.

I also shouted my tits off at Eidos to pull their finger out and regain Lara’s mantel from Nathan Drake. Well they went under but Crystal Dynamics and Squarpqnts sure as shit gave me what I wanted.

NOW GIVE THIS MASSIVE IP A GAME WORTHY OF THE NAME STAR TREK!!!
