This Disney Infinity trailer is infinitely awesome

It’s Friday damn it and I refuse to give in to negativity and troll vibes! I’m also not ashamed to say how awesome I think this Disney Infinity: Toy Box trailer is.

If there’s one thing that I’ve learned about games in the last couple of years, it is that you should never judge a game before really experiencing it. Unless of course it’s something by EA, I mean they are like the worst company in America. I was blown away by the fun that is LittleBigPlanet and I’m sure we’ll have the same experience with Disney’s Infinity. I don’t’ care who you are, you can’t deny that you love animated movies such as Monsters Inc. or The Incredibles or the recent Wreck-It Ralph.  I almost feel obligated to mention that the game is a Skylanders-like game, but I’m not going to.

The trailer shows off the game’s Toy Box mode where players can mix and match characters and universes from different movies and create custom games like footie, pinball and racing.

Included in the Infinity starter kit are characters, Captain Jack Sparrow, Monster Inc.’s Sully and The Incredibles’ Mr. Incredible. Other characters and figurines will need to be bought separately.

Also, I found this picture of Jim Lenoir.

Hahahah! This made me laugh, but then I cried when I remembered that Disney killed a certain game. I also wonder though, is this range going to kill off Skylanders? I mean, I think Skylanders is a totally solid game, but having something like Disney come in with its power I worry Skylanders will suffer. I am sure Gavin has something to say here…

I’m staying quiet until i see more Disney stuff… Skylanders can’t have the monopoly forever though and they’ll have to adapt to survive

Disney hasn’t had the best time in games though. Most of their really successful games only utilised the Disney IP.

Agreed, that is why I am worried that Skylanders is going to be side-blinded by more recognisable characters. I mean hell, even I want to play Captain Jack Sparrow, who wouldn’t?

Ok, I’ve made my name on this site as an irritating old codger, who hates everything that’s popular, who loves stuff that isn’t popular (ugh.. hipster), who leans towards taking the contrarian viewpoint, and who on occasion plays with his banana (no Erwin, not that banana).

    But this… looks awesome.
