Top 10 games to get your better half into gaming

So it’s nearly weekend and you are looking forward to a relaxing Sunday just playing games and relaxing but your better half would rather you do some chores instead?

Well here is your chance to change their minds and get them into gaming as well, XboxFocus.com has put together a list of games to get your significant other into gaming…

I am not sure I agree with all of their points, especially since we don’t have Rock Band yet, but most of them seem like a good idea….

10. Viva Pinata (Personally would have placed it higher)
9. Dead or ALive 4 (my wife loved this game)
8. Oblivion (not sure on this one)
7. Halo 3 (my wife doesn’t get the point but it’s an easy FPS to get into)
6. Dance Dance Revolution Universe (I really need to get this for the family)
5. Rock Band (… no comment)
4. Marvel Ultimate Alliance (I was not impressed with this game at all)
3. The Simpsons Game (good call)
2. Lego Star Wars (I actually got stuck in this game and gave up… I really should try again)

And the number one game to get your better half into gaming?

1. Portal…. (Awesome game and a worthy winner)

Also Viva Pinata isn’t as big of a pull as you’d think. My girlfriend has played it and well she gets bored of it. Perhaps I should give her some twitch shooting in CoD 4

My Girlfriend loves, Viva Pinata, DOA4, and Portal, I think Guitar Hero 3 should be there instead of Rockband as she digs that too

Not sure why Halo is there? FPS = Pointless shooter in many a girls eyes… oblivion? are you serious?

agreed about VP. Bought it for my girlfriend, it was fun for a bit, then too many things started happening at once and she got frustrated with it. (I got horribly addicted to it though)

My daughters loved Oblivion on the PC. I am to scared to show them Mass Effect on the Xbox because then I will have no chance to play.

I actually don’t show my wife or daughters anything on my Xbox in the fear that I might lose it.

Funny most of those games didn’t work on my wife. Her list would be:

    Exit
    Viva Pinata
    Catan
    Luxor 2
    Track and field.

@doobi, don’t even get me started on Luxor 2. Lost my xbox rights for awhie and she played through that game.

Catan luckily didn’t set, but that’s only because we play the actual boardgame so often. More like a novelty “Oh it’s so cute how it looks on the xbox”.

…and this is why girls come around to my place on occasions I’m not going to be gaming – I find it to be too much of a slog to get them involved. Besides, I get teased about the medal enough as it is:).

Although they’re not XBox, I would add World of WarCraft and Sam & Max Season 1 to that list, especially the latter – which is a lot of fun as a “couples” game.
