With Assassin’s Creed 2 to be released so soon one would hardly expect to hear news of a third installation in the pipeline already.
In a chat with IncGamers, Vincent Pontbriand (associate producer) confirmed that the team had already commenced work on Assassin’s Creed 3. Apparently when asked about whether or not they were thinking about the next installment, Pontbriand answered with a “yes, of course”. but also added that the team is still trying to hit some deadlines. He went on to say,
The key thing is that it has to be a pivotal moment in history, it has to be something that changes something and humanity in the world… It can’t be before the original Assassin’s Creed, but it could be between the original and Assassin’s 2.
He also added that gamers should soon see some DLC for AC2 but unfortunately its seems his lips are zipped on what we could expect as he explained, “There are plans for DLC, but I am not allowed to talk about it, but it’s something that creates longevity”.
Apparently the team are also considering a multi-player mode but they still have reservations as they fear that their would be too many Assassin’s populating the world. Still though a decision has yet to be made but its still under consideration.
