Unreal Tournament 3 : DLC coming next Month (for PS3 and PC owners, that is)

ut3-logoMidway and Epic Games have officially confirmed that the Titan Pack is coming to  Unreal Tournament 3 for the PC and PlayStation3 on March 5, 2009. There is no word on whether the Xbox 360 version – neutered by Microsoft’s draconian views on user generated content – will be receiving the DLC.

Ushering in new features, characters, units, vehicles, maps and game modes the Titan Pack comes at the very best price – Free!

More details -  courtesy of a Midway Press Release – on the gratis goodies after the jump!

For those of you who like objective based gaming, The Titan Pack adds 57 goals, in the form of Steam Achievements on PC, and Trophies on PS3.

In addition to 11 new multiplayer maps for Deathmatch, CTF, Vehicle CTF and Warfare modes, eight popular maps from the first UT3 bonus pack and Xbox 360 version, two new game modes will be added : “Greed” a “tug of war” style kill points battle, and “Betrayal” a cutthroat style of play where alliances waver and teams can shift through a match.

The new X-Ray deployable field can be used to lay waste to foes since enemies inside it are extremely vulnerable, while the Link Station, a temporary repair unit, can be deployed to keep vehicles in top fighting condition.

The Stealthbender comes equipped with a Link Station, an X-Ray Field, spidermine traps, and an EMP mine, but what makes this new vehicle especially lethal is its underlying Necris stealth technology, which renders it invisible for surprise attacks.

Nova and Kana are two new playable characters added to the roster of death-dealing guns for hire in Unreal Tournament 3.

The singularly most interesting (and likely most annoying) addition is that of the Titan mutator – where fragging enough enemies turns you into the almighty Titan, a 15-foot tall maestro of wholesale carnage that has the effects of every Power Up in the game… ALL AT ONCE!

Any of you still playing this game? Keen for the new bits?

I purchased UT3 for PC when it was released, I have a rig that can more then supports it. This game sucks a.., I sold my copy on ebay for about $10 less then what I paid for it and felt lucky to get that.
Face it UT3 flopped and is by far one of the worst FPS games ever released.
I have been a loyal UT fan since day one and I have loved the series but this was a big disappointment.
What made me mad was the lies and disrespect they have shown there customers and supporters.
This Titan pack is a way for them to try and make up there losses and as far as I am concerned they can take it and shove it.
I just purchased F.E.A.R 2 and yes it did have some problems but this game signal or MP is by far much better then UT3.
My advise to anyone looking to purchase UT3 because of there Epic’s Deming attempt to apologize with this so called “Titan Pack” forget it.

To panda icon guy, you need a wake-up call, or a chill pill. You see the people below your right? They’re waving up at you, wondering why you’ve got such a chip on your shoulder, why not get off of that high horse?

UT3 is awesome, if you don’t think so you probably sucked at it. Sorry to say, go back to consoles and play Halo or something.
