Welcome Back Jack

Look... a PSP

So after Nintendo’s completely uninspiring conference earlier today Sony took the floor and easily beat them but I dare say… not Microsoft.

However one redeeming quality of the Sony conference was it’s big PSP push, it seems that Sony has now decided that the PSP is going to be a major part of their future plans and are pushing it in a large way.

One of their new games is a PSP Resistance game, which I think is just profiteering. Then they announced a new old Ratchet & Clank game which does sound awesome which will be bundled with the new National Treasure movie in the US. [Update] Making the bundle an awesome idea.

Didn’t we can the whole watching movies on the PSP idea a while back?

Anyway what did get me though is Jack Tretton’s little jibe at the competition.. According to Jack

“From a portable gaming perspective, there is no equal. PSP is an offering that no other handheld can match”

So Jack are we just ignoring the fact that the other handheld in the market is outselling yours 2:1 in worldwide sales for 2008?

You would think that even if Jack didn’t understand the appeal of the DS he would understand being completely obliterated in the market?

I for one welcome our future robotic overlords

  • lol I think his statement has been worded very carefully in terms of the PSP can play Movies, and the over all Res of the PSP seems to be of a higher quality than the DS, so in a sense he’s correct in saying no other Portable gaming device is it’s equal 😉

  • Yeah what Kold said, I was thinking the same thing when I was watching the conferences last night, but then I realised that he was pushing more towards the multimedia experience

LG you really need to get your facts straight. The R&C game bundled with the PSP is not new. Its Rachet and Clank – Size Matters and is more than a year old.

As long as an xbox exists so shall a ps3 owner who despises it.
