I really do enjoy the odd fighting game now and then. I’ve been too scared to challenge Geoff at Street Fighter though, because quite frankly, I’m terrible at the game, and he would literally use my hair to mop up the floor once he is done destroying me. I have not had the training or practice to face our scary editor just yet, but that may change. This YouTube series shows what a Dota 2 fighting game would be like.
The first video sees Ursa, the fuzzy wuzzy bear, go up against Doombringer, the… not so fuzzy and cute demon. Who will be the winner?
The next in the series has the ever illusive Phantom Assassin go up against the R-to-win Juggernaut. This video is somewhat more balanced, as it lets you choose who you want to win.
Both videos are really well made. I especially like how the creator, Chris Le, has incorporated signature spells or moves from Dota 2 and translated them into a proper fighting context as well as made some new ones to compliment them. It’s also a really interesting way to show off potential in-game sets which are displayed after each battle
If this were a real game, I would practice non-stop, and Geoff would be no match whatsoever. I look forward to seeing what other battles will come from this YouTube Channel. I would especially like to see how Chris translates my favourite hero, Puck, or any spell caster for that matter, into a fighter.
