Wii and PS3 sales neck and neck in Australia

It seems that the one place in the world where any console is keeping up to the Wii is in Australia….

The numbers are in for the first quarter of 2007 and so far the Wii has sold 28k units, the PS3 27k units and the Xbox 360 20k units.

What is even more impressive is that the PS3 was only available from the 23rd of March so the comparisons are a bit unfair.

However the Wii managed to sell 33k on it’s first weekend.

So it seems like our Ozzie friends are big playstation fans.
