Though I’ve not watched professional wrestling since the mid-nineties, back when it was cool, I admittedly love wrestling games – a sort of guilty gaming pleasure. The series gets a reboot this year, dropping the Smackdown vs Raw title its carried for over a decade and featuring a whole new engine. Now simply called WWE ‘12, THQ’s next wrestling game comes with better, more realistic animations and the ability to interrupt and transition moves.
Over the weekend, THQ revealed most of the game’s roster – and it includes a bunch of people I actually recognise! Most notably, it features Ricky the Steamboat Dragon and two sets of tag-team legends – The Legion of Doom and Demolition – that’ll allow you to relive the 80’s, only without the neone, striped tube socks. Huzzah.
Here’s the revealed roster – all that’s missing is one on-disc character, and a further 13 who are slated for DLC. As a bonus, fans get to choose who appears on the cover of the game’s Collector’s Edition – John Cena or the Rock, by voting on the game’s Facebook page
