XBL Charts – World at War Dominates in January

So the Live Chart for Jan 09 has arrived (see list below) and it’s no surprise that the Call of Duty games are still dominating in a big way. Not only is World at War sitting on the top of the list, but it’s older brother Modern Warfare is still in 3rd place and even ahead of Gears of War 2, despite being over a year old now.

1. CoD: World at War
2. Halo 3
3. Call of Duty 4
4. Gears of War 2
5. Left 4 Dead
6. GTA IV
7. Fallout 3
8. FIFA 09
9. Guitar Hero World Tour
10. Madden NFL 09

Top Arcade Titles (purchased)

1. The Maw
2. Castle Crashers
3. Worms
4. Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix
5. UNO
6. A Kingdom for Keflings
7. Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3
8. Braid
9. Banjo-Kazooie
10. Bomberman Live

Pretty impressive considering that it’s not Halo, which is still going strong. Gears of War 2 however is still struggling to get it’s numbers up, although with the changes recently made in the latest update, we may see some numbers increasing again.

The Maw on XBLA came in strong at number 1, with Castle Crashers making a nice comeback after the release of the patch that fixed online play.

Odd that COD 4 is in 3, and that Gears 2 is in 4, whilst GTA 4 is in 6 whilst FIFA 09 is in 8 and Madden 09 is in 10.

Phew.

Strange that BF BC is not listed as there is always several games on at any given time.

So this chart is just what people connected to live are playing the most. It can’t be for multiplayer because Fallout doesn’t have a multiplayer element….

    Makes sense then.
