After a long hiatus Waggy over at Wagy’s world has decided to start blogging again…
For those of you who don’t know, Waggy is somewhat of a minor celebrity in the console gaming circle of South Africa…
I (Waggy)Â returned to Johannesburg to start I-Imagine, South Africa’s first console game development company where we created the first Xbox, PS2 & PSP games on the African continent.
In the past few months since the Xbox 360 launch very little has come out except that he has been helping MI Digital spread the good word of next gen gaming through the country… now however he has released a nice teaser on his website…
Exciting news on the horizon. September will not only see great games such as PGR4 and Halo 3, but South Africa’s first Xbox 360 game will start being developed. Got your interest peaked? well I’m not going to say too much too soon, you’ll just have to wait patiently and all will be divulged…..eventually.
So any guesses about what the first Xbox 360 game developed in South Africa is going to be? I have always thought a Boer War or Zulu fighting game would go down well overseas, but I guess we are going to have to wait and see…

What about a Taxi racing game? Get kudos by picking up commuters whilst doing 160km/h on a corner & having a time limit of 1:30 secs to drive through downtown in rush hour? 🙂

nooo… you would get spanner points like the engineer in BF2 by fixing other taxis and then do stat padding at taxi ranks to get promoted quickly & get unlocks!

Where the hell do you get the idea that Waggy’s company (MIDigital) having funds for developing an Xbox360 game and Microsoft South Africa’s inability to set up local live access have anything remotely in common?
1) MIDigital and MS SA are two completely separate companies. The only thing that they have in common is that MID handles the distribution for MS Xbox products and games. That is it. MID has no control over what protocals MS SA may be following, or what decisions that they make internally. Can you PLEASE make this mental separation for the sake of all that is good and holy in this world!??!!?
2) If MID want to create a team that develops an Xbox360 title (or a title for any other platform) then it has sweet FA to do with anything that MS SA does, let alone have anything to do with the reasons as to why MS SA hasn’t put together live access for SA players yet.
3) Please do a bit of research on the games industry so that you can learn the difference between a) platform holder b) distributer c) retailer d) publisher e) developer f) retard.
God you are obtuse at times…
