Xbox 360 gets Resident Evil exclusivity

So the pre-E3 rumour mills are turning furiously and the latest rumour to be pumped out is that the next iteration of Resident Evil may end up being a timed exclusive for the Xbox 360.

Microsoft are apparently trying to bribe Capcom to give their platform the exclusivity but at this time nothing has been confirmed yet…

I’ll start off the comments by saying that I think this is a terrible move by Microsoft, rather use that money to get a full exclusivity on a title or create a new one from scratch.

Resident Evil is already the center of controversy for it’s apparently racist portrayal of black people and while I think it’s a load of rubbish, I expect this issue to get bigger as the game is about to be released.

But it was perfectly fine to shoot Spanish people, not to be funny but the racist card gets played to often sometimes. This is one of the few games actually portrayed in Africa.

They should just have made the lead character a black dude. Problem solved.

Well the female character looks a shade on the darker side. I didn’t see it till a mate pointed it out. After watching the trailer again and again, I think he may be right. If so, that fixes that

the people accusing it of being racist are actualy the racist ones since they are the only ones that noticed skin colour. RE beign racist never crossed my mind.

That is actually the problem, the ones harping on about racisim are the racists themselves. Heck when I’m playing a game I have no idea of what skin colour is of the person I’m shooting 😀

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: I’m a Equal Opportunity Zombie Killer.

No matter what colour your life skin was, if you are undead, I’m going to put a bullet in your head 🙂

Shouldn’t the article read “Xbox 360 may get Resident Evil exclusivity” if it’s just a rumour? 😉

Found this… “However, Christian Svensson, Capcom’s Corporate Officer and Vice President of Strategic Planning and Business Development, has quickly dispelled the rumours on Capcom’s blog. “The assertion is false. RE5 is a multiplatform release that fits with our oft-stated crossplatform strategy.”

Christian Svensson later confirmed in the same thread on Capcom’s blog that the Xbox 360 and PS3 version of Resident Evil 5 will have a simultaneous release.”

So its okay to shoot Germans,Arabs an assortment of Russians , East Europeans and the Chinese but its offensive to shoot Black people in a game set in Africa ? 😯 What I would like to know is where are the games where you get to shoot Australians ?

I downloaded the HD Trailer off the PSN and it does look awesome… If the release is anything like the trailer, then it’s gonna be very very cool…. 😉
