Xbox 360 the most reliable Console

Well it is according to Bill Gates. I have a feeling he hasn’t spent that much time in the Xbox department for him to believe that.

While he does admit that they used to have some reliability problems he seems to think that they are now resolved and the 360 is now the most reliable console.

Well we certainly had to apologize to our uses about a number of box that had to be replaced. We did that for free for all of those people, we’ve gotten a lot of positive feedback about the way we handled it. We’ve got incredible reliability on the new work we’ve done. Our commitment is that it will be the most reliable video game box out there. People really love the Xbox because of the content, but we’ve got to make sure that the hardware never stands in the way of that

The Xbox 360 is a fantastic machine but it isn’t the most reliable games console on the market.

Gee that heading is very misleading and makes Bill look like a bit of a tit.

But actually he never said that, he said it is their “commitment it will be the most reliable console”, and that they have “incredible reliability on the work they have done”.

I think you have short-changed William there Lazy.

Once again another example of the “head honcho” of one of the consoles making a opinion of it’s product that just might be seen differently by the rest of the world.

Reminds me of the article you had about Sony’s “head honcho” saying that the PS3 was the best and the fiery discussions that followed (in the comments area)

  • Ascribing credence to anything uttered by Gates (Or any other Microsoft henchmen) is surely a mistake.

@Banana Hammock, yeah he didn’t actually say to much wrong but as Naudran pointed out when Sony’s head said something stupid I posted about it and was attacked. Could you imagine if I didn’t post about this 😉

Seriously though he should also be more careful with his wording, especially when discussing the lack of reliability of the XBox 360

i still don’t get why they never recalled the original batch of 360s. Surely that would have cost less than the implicit cost to the reputation and the numerous swopouts they did anyway.
