Xbox Disc Replacement Policy Covers South Africa – Official

A while ago I reported on the Xbox Disc Replacement Plan  which Microsoft had implemented to replace certain discs that may have been damaged somehow. This was good news for a few people who had their Gears of War discs mangled by their Xbox 360’s…

But then when people actually tried to send in their broken discs they where told by the Xbox support team that South Africa was not covered by this policy which led to the Xbox.com is lying post.

Well I am happy to report that after countless emails back and forth between myself and Microsoft and their international vendors I received written confirmation this morning that South Africa is in deed covered by this policy.

According to Duran Balbathur, one of the international vendors for Microsoft

As per our discussion regarding the X box disc replacements, after conversing with the Xbox Team who confirmed with their manager, no such issue as to South Africa not participating in the promotion was put forth. I was assured that according to the terms and conditions, it included all countries with no exceptions specifically mentioned.

I think that is about as clear as the terms and conditions mentioned on the Xbox.com website. So if you have some scratched discs then head on over to here and fill in the form.

Send it in to Microsoft and sit and wait for your replacement disc….

Please let me know if you have any problems with this as they really do have to honour these types of agreements…

I received a Xbox 360 in February 2007 as a birthday gift, and low and behold stopped working after 3 weeks.
