Xbox Live in South Africa – Yet another attempt to get noticed

Sometimes it feels like we are banging our head against the wall in regards to some local Xbox Live support but never the less we will keep on going and make sure that Microsoft are well aware of our desires.

The latest attempt to get some attention has been started by our local Xbox 360 forum and this one’s pretty simple.

If you are in South Africa and have a Xbox 360 gamertag then head on over to the official Xbox 360 forums and leave a message with your gamertag in it.

The theory being that when Microsoft see how awesome we are and how many of us there are then they will be more inclined to give us that support we want so badly.

Honestly I don’t think this will make any difference as Microsoft are more than aware of how many people live in South Africa and access Xbox Live but I guess it never hurts to try.

So if you haven’t yet then head on over to the Official Forum and leave your post… hey you may find some new local friends by scanning through the posts as well.

147 replies so far. So.. yeah, with around 200 users, one can see why MS does not bother with SA LIVE.

Hopefully people who read this will post. Thanks to lazy for posting this on your site! This site gets tons of traffic, so maybe this could even make its way onto N4G.

MS SA are well aware of how many people want Live here, the problem is Redmond they do not view as a worthwhile country, especially after India was a failure to them.

MS has to realize that if SA gets life that that might boost console sales… I thought that would be obvious

I’ve practically given up on the idea of local live support, so much so that I’ve actually stopped buying games, gotten back in to my PC games which at least have local servers. I will not buy another X-box when the 360 is replaced.

I suppose I should thank MS.. times are tough and their false promises coupled with my bitter disappointment have probably helped me save close to R25k this year alone!

4mb unshaped is plenty fast. And cheaper than filling up a 4×4…

    Maybe. I heard that SA have 85 000 360 sold…

Ok I know a lot of us has 2, but still… we need 5000 or more tags!

    Come on people!

Just added myself there now. I hope it gets sorted as I will get my Gold canned by August thanks to some new CC checks with UK addresses apparently. Sigh. And no, not getting UK codes as I got shafted last time. 🙁

Wow flashback… I remember a couple of gamers went to Hello Peter 5 months ago,to complain about Xbox LIVE not being in South Africa. And they still did nothing… MS just doesnt see us as a big profit country i guess…

MSN PA:”Sir a couple of South Africans have been pleading for Xbox LIVe for more than 3 years now, what do we do?”

    MSN CEO:”Where is South Africa?”

    MSN PA:”Somewhere in Mexico sir..”

    MSN CEO:”I rest my case…”

I guess the best way to get more posts on that list is to post twice 🙂

Anyway, was in the visitor center in Seattle the other day and they have a globe in there showing a green dot(XBox) over South Africa, it probably only means that they sell the console there. Let us keep our fingers crossed.

Well, this kinda proves the point?

Not a lot of people on live here… so why should they bother?
