Xul

When it comes to new character releases in Heroes of the Storm, Blizzard tend to run things like clockwork. Every three weeks or so, a new hero enters the Nexus.

Where’s Xul though? I mean, Li-Ming, the Diablo III Wizard, joined the Nexus on February the 2nd. That’s almost a month ago now!

Based on past release trends, the Diablo II Necromancer should be out already, but we’ve yet to see him added to the roster. We won’t have to wait too much longer though at least, because Xul should be unleashed on the Nexus tomorrow. Here’s his hero spotlight, which Blizzard released this past weekend.

The enigmatic necromancers hold the belief that all creation exists in the delicate balance between light and darkness. Should either side gain control, the world of Sanctuary would fall into ruin. As a member of their ancient order, Xul fights to preserve that balance, no matter where his travels may take him, or what foes stand against him.

Xul is a close-quarters specialist, who weakens his enemies and raises the undead to aid him in battle.

Before seeing his abilities, I thought Xul would be a great pusher, based simply on the fact that he is a necromancer, and thus, can raise an army of minions. As it turns out, he can do that, and a whole lot more.

He is capable of dealing quite a substantial amount of damage, and even tanking a little. Hell, he even has a reliable, though delayed root, which gives him quite a bit of utility. His ultimate’s are both quite useful too, though I’m quite disappointed with the one because I’m pretty sure I’ve seen it before… somewhere.

Regardless, I’m happy that Xul will be entering the Nexus soon. What about you? Will you be grabbing the Necromancer upon release?

Perhaps he was delayed because of the performance issues introduced with the Li-Ming patch…with my Season 5 Journey on Diablo almost done, I might start playing this again…
