Gran Turismo 5 must be one of the most supported games post release in history. And it’s getting updated again, according to Polyphony Digital Boss Kazunori Yamauchi.

The Gran Turismo producer and confessed racing nut took to Twitter to inform the world that Gran Turismo would be receiving its latest update on February 7th. That’s tomorrow! He hasn’t, however, let slip what exactly will be updated, or if the update will weight in at multiple gigabytes like some of its predecessors. The game currently sits at version 2.03 – an update that brought along with it better tire wear and a bunch of colours for your home theme.

What do you think? Do you think all these post-release updates have helped PD’s simulation racer age like a fine wine – or are a sign that the overambitious game wasn’t finished when it was originally released in 2010?

For those of you without internet or with limited bandwidth, there’s a new retail release of Gran Turismo coming that includes everything up to the Spec 2.0 update.

Editor. I’m old, grumpy and more than just a little cynical. One day, I found myself in possession of a NES, and a copy of Super Mario Bros 3. It was that game that made me realise that games were more than just toys to idly while away time – they were capable of being masterpieces. I’m here now, looking for more of those masterpieces.
