Hey, remember when we teased that something big was going to be hitting the esports scene soon? We weren’t joking. RTS fans, brace yourself. The best of the best are coming down for a Heart of the Swarm gathering, an event that will see some furious competition and big names battle it out for prizes, glory and bragging rights!

Megarom Interactive, the MSSA, AMD, Internet Solutions and Polarfluke have all joined forces for this tournament, that will see players from around the country battle it out to see who’s fastest on the mouse and can whip up a battle strategy when faced by a horde of Zerglings.  Local legend Pandatank himself will also be taking on the Romanian heavyweight Nightsend in an officially sanctioned MSSA match, with more information available on the registration site. Check it out, it’s pretty fab, and you can stand a chance to net yourself a Collector’s Edition of Heart of the Swarm just by registering.

More information will be shared throughout the site in the coming weeks, before the 16 March Tournament date arrives. But more importantly, this is an event for games, so the Lazygamer crew will be present at the event, as we do interviews and videos on the spot. So come on down, hang out, watch the best in the genre go head to head, stand a chance to win some prizes and have some fun as a gamer in an event that all the stops are being pulled out for.

I can go spectate the event in Joburg? Entrance fee? What time – what time (on the 16th).

Will the event have a live stream for those that cannot attend (or are in other cities?)

If Polarfluke can do this, surely this tournament can be streamed/broadcasted? (get a twitch account!)

I imagine with IS backing the connection, having an outgoing stream to Twitch would be very stable and “crisp” 😛

We are working on the details, but I will make sure there is some form of stream available 🙂
