The PS4 and Playroom link with Twitch means that anyone can make their living room into a live TV show. Yup, that’s right, instead of watching someone’s imaginary living room in Minecraft, you can see the real thing. This is leading to some strange new overnight Twitch stars.
Engadget reported on the husband and wife team that have become popular with their The Spartan Show. Not only are they popular on Twitch, they even got a shout out from Shuhei Yoshida, and Adam Boyes called in on their show. Not too shabby. You can check them out:

Of course, with this new technology, people haven’t taken long to use it for other kinds of content. There have been a range of reports on Reddit about people have sex or flashing the screen while streaming. Kotaku reached out to Twitch to see if they were cracking down on people using Playroom, receiving the following answer:
As Twitch continues to attract new broadcasters, we want to keep our terms of service top of mind and reiterate we are a destination for video game-related content. We also have a team, supported by a predominantly positive minded community, that works around the clock to ensure our TOS is being adhered to. It is at the discretion of our partners to determine which Twitch features are integrated into their hardware and software.
Are people actually surprised? Look at what happened with Xbox’s Uno or even Nintendo’s Swap Note. Apparently it’s how people respond to having access to others through the internet – nudity and porn. This was bound to happen. Now it’s just up to twitch how they deal with the matter. I wonder what will happen when someone figures out how to use the new Kinect on Xbox One for similar purposes.
