EGM Says Killzone 2 is dumb

EGM has reviewed Halo 3 and Killzone 2 side by side and have ended up not being very nice to Killzone.

However I do think it is a bit unfair comparing a game that has just gone gold to a game that hasn’t even had a demo released yet.

That being said however this is not the first time that accusations of stupidity have been made about the PS3’s games, lets just hope this is going to be improved dramatically before Killzone hits the marketplace because if this game can’t get good AI out of the PS3 then I hate to say it but nothing will.

As you said, its unfair. When people said Halo 3 looks like Halo 2.5 (in terms of gfx) everyone said its only the Beta. Yet they compare the AI from a pre-Beta release of Killzone to Halo3, the final prod.uct

I don’t think it’s unecessary at all. Killzone 2 is one of the most anticipated games for the PS3 and is a direct competitor to Halo 3, EGM have even clarified there comments now (http://www.1up.com/do/blogEntry?bId=8366927&publicUserId=5379799) and they still think it has bad AI…

It’s an inflammatory article and completely unnecessary and inaccurate. The did this just to get people to read it.

“I based my best/worst A.I. votes purely on what was shown to me at E3…and Halo 3 and Killzone 2 were both on equal grounds there. Both were not playable by us, only played for us by their respective developers, and based on those E3 demos and those demos alone, we voted the way we did…”

    1. They didn’t even play the games.
    2. Halo 3 was very late in Dev at the time of E3, Killzone 2 still has a long way to go. Perhaps the developers of Killzone had been focusing purely on the graphics because of the huge pressure on them to deliver something that resembled the 2005 trailer.

I would like to see the same comparison when Killzone 2 is almost gold.

That’s an interview with one of the EGM editors and the clip is out of context. These are “E3 07” awards, ie what they saw at E3 and not meant to be reflections on he final game.

@Tan because I never saw that article and it isn’t really an article it’s just scanned images. Thanks for the link though I will keep a beady eye on the site 🙂
