Zero Punctuation: Haze

So I winced a little for the developers of Haze when I saw that Yahtzee had chosen it for his review this week.

Haze, the game that was slammed by virtually every online and offline reviewer in the world…

However Yahtzee actually seemed to take a liking to it, granted he says he hated every part of it but as far as generic FPS’s go he seemed to think it was actually okay…

Now that the earlier hype about Haze is dead and buried maybe we should take another look at it and see if it is actually an okay game after all?

Have to disagree with your take on Yatzhee’s review. Going by almost everything he said, but specifically the final line, he hated this game.

The best that can be said about it is “functional”? The final line about throwing your money away? As I understand, he’s very much telling people not to buy the game.

I think Haze was overrated from day 1, at any rate. It didn’t so much scream ‘Halo killer’ as it did ‘Halo knock-off.’ Having had the oppurtunity to see it in action a few weeks ago, I must agree with most of his criticisms. The hilarious line about people running alongside the chopper with cardboard cutouts was spot-on. I’m very glad I didn’t buy it.

Strangely, I would like a Cornetto right about now.

I Have to agree with Etienne here, after reviewing the game, I played it for a while longer, and at no point did I Have any doubt around the crappness of it. Functional is being nice!!!
