It’s official, there won’t be a WWE 2K game in 2020

Could 2K’s WWE games get any worse? Yes! Because there might not even be a WWE 2K game this year. That’s the word according to former WWE video game writer Justin Leeper, who claims that due to several factors (And the My Shaaaaaaarona virus), this year’s WWE 2K game is stuck in development hell in a cell.
I think it’s safe to say that Borderlands 3 was a hit. The core game was an addictive grind of loot ‘n shoot fun that sold five million copies in the first week, the DLC has been a welcome extension of the formula and the fandom is very very happy right now. A pity the same can’t be said for the people who made Borderlands 3, as it looks like all their hard work has resulted in them being absolutely stiffed come bonus day.
2K Games announced today that work is currently being done on a new BioShock, which will be done studio Cloud Chamber. The new development team happens to be split between the 2K San Francisco and Montreal offices, with Kelley Gilmore from Firaxis games being the big boss of this studio.

For a time, it looked 2K had finally found their groove with the release of WWE 2K19. WWE 2K20 takes all that goodwill and pisses it away, constructing the shoddiest backyard ring possible and filling it with a broken product, busted progression systems and an overall presentation that makes WWE 2K20 the worst there was, the worst there is and the worst that ever will be.
This year’s slammer jammer that is WWE 2K20, seems to be having some trouble with that traditional feature. Fans on reddit have posted some absolutely nightmarish creations of custom assets resembling Assassin’s Creed Unity without a day one patch, while the option to download faces seems to have been disabled entirely.
Another year, another WWE game and a general feeling that whatever 2K puts out will be passable enough to justify a hefty purchase for a visual simulation of Vinny Mac’s House of Smacks…right? With nary a review to its name ahead of launch day (Which was yesterday!), there were already worrying signs that WWE 2K20 would be a jobber of a game this year instead of the heavyweight contender that fans were expecting.
