The Division PC Requirements leaked

A handful of journalists got to play The Division at a press event in Sweden last week, and while most of what we’ve heard came from the Xbox One version there was a PC present at the event too. Impressions of the port are yet to be released, but the underlying opinion is that it’s miles ahead of its console counterparts in terms of visual fidelity. And looking at the System Requirements, I can see why.

Ubisoft has been coy with this type of information, but it seems Ubisoft Russia doesn’t like to play by the rules. They casually replied to a customer request with the full list of requirements, which was then picked up by Steam Forum users and translated to make more sense. What it paints is a scary picture for those a little behind on their PC upgrading, with The Division requiring some of the best hardware on the market.

At least for the beta, which these requirements are representative for:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Operating System: Windows 7 SP1, Windows 8.1, Windows 10 (only 64-bit versions)
  • Processor: Intel Core i5 2400 3.1 GHz or AMD FX @ 6100 @ 3.3 GHz
  • RAM: 6 GB
  • Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 or Radeon HD 7770 AMD (2GB VRAM)
  • Hard Drive: 40 GB
  • DirectX: DirectX June 2010
  • Sound Card: DirectX compatible
  • Input Devices: Windows-compatible keyboard, mouse, controller (optional)

Recommended Requirements

  • Operating System: Windows 7 SP1, Windows 8.1, Windows 10 (only 64-bit versions)
  • Processor: Intel Core i7-3770 @ 3.5 GHz or AMD FX-8350 @ 4.0GHz
  • RAM: 8 GB
  • Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 (4 GB) or AMD Radeon R9 290 (4 GB) or better
  • Hard Drive: 40 GB
  • DirectX: DirectX June 2010
  • Sound Card: DirectX 9.0c support
  • Input Devices: Windows-compatible keyboard, mouse, controller (optional)

Glancing at the recommended requirements alone it’s plain to see just how taxing The Division might get, with Steam’s new most popular card (and still relatively high-end) GTX 970 being listed. That’s ignoring the Core i7 Processor too, which pairs up with the usual 8GB of RAM and massive 40GB of HDD space. And as is common with most PC games now, 64-bit versions of Windows are required even at the lowest level – although you should be there already.

We should be getting a look at some PC footage for Ubisoft’s upcoming MMO shooter before the beta kicks off next weekend, but even then it’s just a few short days before you can test for yourself how well your rig fares against the desolate wasteland of New York in the near future. The Division is out on March 8th.

Im still running AMD tri-core 1.7ghz cpu, 2gig of DDR2 800mhz ram, 1tb drive and a nvidia 460GTX gpu. To me that specs isnt standard. Its high and very costly lol My brothers PC meets those specs and more so I guess thats what makes it quite standard for you and him.

Hmmmm looking at those Rec PC specs and then looking back at Ubi past on games and optimization, I’d say you need 3x GTX980 Ti and a Intel i7-5960X with 64gigs of DDR4 RAM to get 60fps at 1080p.

You’ll need that quantum CPU google recently got with 6 Titan XYZ in hexa sli and 256 gigs of DDR5X. And to power it all you will need the whole power grid of Eskom as a PSU.

Dont forget Medupi isnt finished yet so im sure at the moment you can only play in short bursts of like an hour per session. Once medupi is up and running it should up the play time by 3 hours.

Well here’s hoping my 780 GTX Lightning can still handle this.

I really would like to only have to upgrade later this year.

At least my CPU, RAM and SSD will make up for the 1GB of GRAM I am lacking…
