Gamers petition president to expunge DmC

DMCbabies

I recently got a fair bit of flack from the internet-at-large for calling a sub-section of Devil May Cry fans entitled, whiny crybabies. While there are real concerns with the direction of its recent reboot, my issue was with those vociferous, vitriolic bunch that were unable to put the past behind them, attacking the game purely because it’s different from its predecessors. Those crybabies have now proven me right; they’ve asked US president Obama to have the game removed from store shelves, because that’s what government is for.

Yes, you read that right. There’s a new petition put forth on the White House website entitled "Get Ninja Theory’s DmC: Devil May Cry pulled off the shelves."

Here it is, in full (via GameRanx):

Dear Mr. Obama: As a consumer to the Video Game Industry there is one Video Game that has caused a lot of controversy over the past few month’s.

The name of the game is DmC: Devil May Cry made by Ninja Theory and Capcom. A majority of gamer’s are aggravated that this game has changed so much from it’s past predecessors and the game actually insults the consumers in-game.

We, as consumers did not want nor need this reboot and we believe it violates our rights to have a choice between the original’s or the reboot. This game is violating our rights as a consumer and we believe it should be pulled off shelves from game stores due to it’s insulting nature and the fact that it violates our rights.

Please Mr. Obama, look into your heart and make the decision that will please us Gamers.

I honestly don’t have any words. I sincerely hope the petition – like many others put forth to the presidency – is a joke, albeit a terrible one. If it isn’t, these people are behaving as if a video game they don’t like is the worst thing to happen in the history of existence. It’s childish, and frankly obscene that some gamers feel so self-entitled that they believe developers and publishers should succumb to their every ridiculous whim.

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Oh wow! DMC fans are so hilarious! Now that the game is actually great, they’re pissed off and are desperate to find reasons for claiming it’s a bad game.
