Skyrim’s first DLC, Dawnguard, was released for the Xbox 360 back in June and while it didn’t set the Internet alight it was accepted quite well and unsurprisingly the PS3 and PC gamers have also been sitting back and expecting to get their DLC any day now.. but apparently they may be waiting for quite a while. Or forever and Dawnguard may not even make it to those platforms.

This surprising news was tweeted by Pete Hines who is the VP of PR and Marketing for Bethesda who stated

We have not announced Dawnguard for any other platform, nor given a timeline for any such news. If we have news, I promise I’d tell you.

His followers understandably then got upset and he then responded with a bit of a clarification

@mito8485 I was simply stating that expecting/demanding something today is unfounded. Not that news is never coming.

So there are two scenarios that I see here, the first and most likely is that the exclusive DLC deal that Microsoft have signed with Bethesda requires them to not announce a PS3 and PC version for a certain time period and that is why they can’t confirm it is coming.

Or it’s just not going to be released for the PS3/PC versions…. I don’t expect the second option to be true.
