Galvatron

The line between Transformers fans, is pretty clear. On the one side of the divide, you have the diehard fans who are G1 fo lyfe. On the other side you’ve got the Paramount, who somehow managed to trick audiences into forking over $1 billion on movie tickets with Transformers 4.

Thing is, I’m also a fan of art and design. And it may sound like blasphemy, but I like the look and feel of the Michael Bay Transformers. They’re so ridiculously weird and over the top, that it’s hard for me to not like them.

And I’m liking this upgraded version of the Transformers nemesis Megatron, a helluva lot. Here’s a preview of Galvatron from Prime 1 Studios.

WHAT’S IN THE BOX?

The Galvatron Polystone Statue features:

  • Stands approximately 30 inches tall
  • LED light-up head
  • LED light-up middle chest reactor
  • One (1) arm particle weapon
  • One (1) switchable right palm
  • Exclusive Megatron Head

Dead sexy. Fun fact: In the 1986 Transformers movie, Galvatron was voiced by Mr Spock, the late Leonard Nimoy. Even funner fact that helps me pad this article out further: This was the final film that famed director and actor Orson Welles worked on (As Unicron), as he was circling the drain of life at the time.According to his biographer Barbara Leaming, Welles told her:

You know what I did this morning? I played the voice of a toy.I play a planet. I menace somebody called Something-or-other. Then I’m destroyed. My plan to destroy Whoever-it-is is thwarted and I tear myself apart on the screen.

Anyway, what a weird time. The 77cm tall Galvatron figure won’t feature Leonard Nimoy’s voice but it will transform your bank account into a Negatron with its $1899.00 price tag. MORE THAN MEETS THE EYE!
