Hot Toys Count Dooku and Yoda are ready for a rematch

Dooku Hot Toys (19)

There’s something great about having your expectations blown away. Take Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones for example. A film which was expected to be much better than The Phantom Menace and kind of was, but just barely. Much like the film that preceded it, Attack of the Clones was bogged down by a terrible plot that attempted to disguise its poor acting with an overabundance of special effects.

It wasn’t all bad though. After a tepid lightsaber fight that saw heavy metal legend Christopher Lee (It’s true! Google it!) swat Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker aside like younglings in a Jedi temple takeover, in came Yoda. You know, that little green fella who hobbled around and spouted out dyslexic wisdom. What was he going to do? Spout some broken grammar at Dooku, the finest lightsaber duelist in the galaxy?

Oh hell no. In a move that I never ever saw coming thanks to an actual effort to avoid TV spoilers and teasers, Yoda got up and kicked some serious ass. A whirling tornado of green lightsaber beams and Force blasts, this was the Yoda of legend that fans had been waiting to see in action for decades. Damn Daniel, that Muppet was awesome!

It’s one of my all-time favourite scenes in Star Wars history, and one that I’m keen to immortalise for all eternity, once I sell Geoff’s Midichlorians and use those funds to get my hands on this fine set of sixth-scale figures that Hot Toys will be rolling out next year. Just look at ‘em:
