This 10 minute clip from Sacha Baron Cohen’s new series Who is America? will shock you

Two weeks ago Sacha Baron Cohen cryptically tweeted that was working on a new project that would possibly involve Donald Trump and Cohen’s usual parody antics. Well, we finally have more details on what that project is about and it turns out we were quite a way out on our guesses on what the project could be about. Well kind-of. Instead of a new movie, Cohen is instead making a new series titled Who Is America? And it’s not focused on Trump specifically, but rather America as a whole. And based on the evidence of this new 10-minute footage about the show, it’s probably even scarier than you could imagine:

In this clip we get to see Cohen in the guise of Colonel Erran Morad that includes things like getting politicians to participate in a training video designed to teach kindergarten-age kids how to use guns. Be warned though, this clip is not for sensitive viewers. Not because there is anything necessary graphic in its content, but rather because the views that end up coming out on how people in the US view guns and violence and support kids using them is absolutely shocking. And yet they will blame video games for all the mass shootings when it’s absolutely clear the source of the issue lies in the very politicians that are chosen to lead the world most powerful nation.

Its scary stuff, but likely to also make for riveting viewing. You have to wonder though if content this bizarre is perhaps not scripted, but based on what we see in the above clip, it does look pretty genuine.  You can only imagine that in a short space of 10 minutes we get to see this much stupidity in politicians that what it will unlock in its full seven episodes is going to be horrendously eye-opening. Or eye gouging if you live in the US and can’t believe that these are the people leading your country.

Below is the official synopsis for Who is America?, which premiered on Showtime in the US over the weekend:

Who is America? is a half-hour series from comedian Sacha Baron Cohen, in his return to series television for the first time in more than a decade in the genre he created first in Da Ali G Show. In the works over the past year, Who is America? explores the diverse individuals who populate our unique nation, and features Baron Cohen experimenting in the playground of 2018 America.

“For my interview, my daughter and I were asked to travel across the
country where Cohen (I presume) had heavily disguised himself as a
disabled US Veteran, fake wheelchair and all. Out of respect for what I
was led to believe would be a thoughtful discussion with someone who had
served in uniform, I sat through a long “interview” full of
Hollywoodism’s disrespect and sarcasm — but finally had enough and
literally, physically removed my mic and walked out, much to Cohen’s
chagrin. The disrespect of our US military and middle-class Americans
via Cohen’s foreign commentaries under the guise of interview questions
      was perverse.
And as an aside, for further insight into the wealthy corporate enablers
of this kind of “joke”, I’ll add that after great costs on our part in
time and resources to contribute to their “documentary” the
Cohen/CBS/Showtime production team purposefully dropped my daughter and
me off at the wrong Washington, DC airport after the fake interview,
knowing we’d miss all flights back home to Alaska. After refusing to
take our calls to help get us out of the bind they’d put us in for three
days, I wrote this off as yet another example of the sick nature that
      is media-slash-entertainment today.”

Wow, if that was done to me, pretty sure I’d also be pretty pissed off.
When did being a total dick to people become funny? In a scripted scenario, fine, nobody is getting hurt, no-one is put out. But to screw them over for real?
        Dick move.

Trump’s idiocy has definitely shone the spotlight on American politics but the more depressing part is that most of the crazies in power were there long before he entered the show.

There is something fundamentally wrong with America

We can bemoan that the world is so terrible, but what are we actually doing about it?

Scripted. If it were true it would have been squashed before a cameraman could press the record button.

Nah seems legit, dozens of politicians coming out of the woodwork after the first episode having their own “me2 moment”.

The setup for each interview seems massive, totally duping the interviews over weeks into trapping them into the golden few minutes where their guard is down and say something ridiculous.

Joe Walsh was told he is being flown in for being present with pro-Israeli award; they even created and given him the award and “then caused a fight” to end the interview and whisk him away. The first time he realized he is on the show was when the promos came out.

        I want to believe you.

Still, these things go through a lot before reaching the public eye. Somebody had to have spotted it and stopped it if were true.

Maybe even threaten to shut Cohen and the production down, who knows what the powers that be could do if they were really threatened?

That is actually why the US is one of the few places it will work and will be impossible to shut down or gag once filmed.

1A is vehemently defended in all cases. Funny, good or bad.

Also everyone in such a promo has to sign a waiver. He apparently lied to them beforehand telling them it was a parody etc. The sneaky left will do anything to lie to the general public sheep to promote their agenda , ie that all republicans are gun toting idiots when it is in fact the exact oposite. He can still redeem himself if he stoops to the same level to make fools out of some democrats. At least then it will be balance , however I doubt that would happen.

At this point America has just become a sick parody of itself. It’s kind of funny to watch that poor country implode on itself once you sift through the tragedy of it all.

He shows his clear liberal bias. I hope in the rest of the series he will poke fun / lie to some liberals to get their stupidity on tape as well.
