Here are the 2018 Golden Globe Awards nominations

Awards season always kicks off with the Golden Globe Awards, which I’ve personally always preferred to the Academy Awards. Firstly, the nominees for the Golden Globes are selected by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association and not a panel of stuffy, elitist Academy members. Secondly, the Golden Globes includes nominations for television as well as films, because let’s be honest, excellent entertainment doesn’t stop at the movie screen.

The nominees for the 75th Annual Golden Globe Awards were announced yesterday, with Guillermo del Toro’s The Shape of Water, Steven Spielberg’s The Post, and Martin McDonagh’s Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri leading nominations in the film category. HBO’s Big Little Lies and FX’s Feud: Bette and Joan garnered the most nominations in the television category, with Fargo, The Handmaid’s Tale and This Is Us following close behind.

With all the sexual harassment in Hollywood, I’m surprised they haven’t changed the name of these.
    “Golden globes” sounds kinda dirty.

That’s the beauty of words. there are always more options.

No, that doesn’t make sense. It’s not a HDD.

Here’s a hilarious story. Every year the Hollywood Foreign Press Association who arrange the Golden Globes choose an ambassador to be the face of the event and who literally rolls out the red carpet on the night. This ambassador is known as Miss Golden Globes and somehow nobody thought this was a problem.

That is until this year, when Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s daughter got picked. Suddenly the old name has been dropped and now they’re just officially known as the Golden Globes Ambassador.

And yeah, Kervyn, calling a lass “Miss Golden Globes”, that’s just straight up dodgy.

Hmm, I realise Blade Runner is not everyone’s cup of tea but surely it deserves a directing nomination.
