Despite the fact that last year was actually the year of the Mayan’s version of Y2K, 2013 finds itself with a number of movies about the world ending, and none of them look as crazy funny – emphasis on the crazy – as Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg’s This Is The End. It’s not everyday you get actors willing to play caricatured (possibly fellating) versions of themselves, and that alone would have been worth the price of admission.
But thrown the entire world going to hell – literally – into the mix as well, and it looks like you have a winner. Also, apparently Jonah Hill possessed by the devil, and a foul mouthed, axe-wielding Hermione.
The comedy “This is the End” follows six friends trapped in a house after a series of strange and catastrophic events devastate Los Angeles. As the world unravels outside, dwindling supplies and cabin fever threaten to tear apart the friendships inside. Once they discover that they are experiencing the Apocalypse, they must come to terms with why they were left behind. Eventually they are forced to leave the house, facing their fate and the true meaning of friendship and redemption.
This Is The End will be bringing the apocalypse to cinemas on June 12, 2013.
