The Oscars, a night of glitz and glamour, pomp and ceremoney! Little gold men and dresses that show ridiculous amounts of cleavage! No, dammit Kervyn, I will not wear that skirt, it makes my fat look fat! Ahem, moving on, the Oscars are scheduled to take place in a couple of months, with Family Guy creator and the director of Ted, Seth MacFarlane hosting the event this year.

But of course, in order to get onto that red carpet and have plastic man-beast Joan Rivers yell questions about your wardrobe, you’re going to need a nomination. And here they are.

So far, Steven Spielberg’s Lincoln is in the lead with 12 nominations, followed closely by Life of Pi with 11 nods. Les Miserables has eight nominations to it’s name, but no best director mention for Tom Hooper, while Silver Linings Playbook also has 8 such recognitions, half of them focusing on the actors in that flick.

It’s an eclectic list this year, especially in the best picture category, as films such as Argo and Lincoln are going head to head with Zero Dark Thirty and Django Unchained. Here’s the full list below. Personally, I’m hoping that The Avengers wins the academy award for being the best Avengers movie of all time in the history of forever and every star that ever was.

This is like Snub City over here. No Ben Affleck, Quentin Tarantino and Katherine Bigelow for Best Director? No Joaquin Phoenix and John Hawkes for Best Actor? No Helen Mirren for Best Actress? No love for Skyfall, Looper, and Les Miserables and many more.

Joaquin Phoenix is nominated though? But those other are a travesty. I just hope Spielberg gets another one.
