Antonio Banderas and Wesley Snipes talk THE EXPENDABLES 3

It’s been way too long since we’ve seen Wesley Snipes and Antonio Banderas ina ction roles. That’s mostly thanks to Banderas being involved in more highbrow fare, while Snipes was reliving scenes from Undisputed thanks to a jail sentence because Uncle Sam is one tight-ass money-grabbing federal hawk. The two get to shoot bullets and punch faces in The Expendables 3. Here’s what they have to say about their characters.

“My character is Dr. Death, and he is a very philosophical individual,” Snipes said of his role in a Reddit AMA.

Well, you know, he’s been away for a while, things happen, you know? He grows into understanding things about himself he didn’t understand before! He’s a medic, he’s a doctor. He’s a medic that used to be one of the original team members, he’s a renegade, he’s very handsome, and he’s one of the best characters in the show. He’s from Sweden. The southern part.

As for Banderas, expect a soldier who hides his pain with impulsive, desperado actions:

My character is a guy who is holding a pain inside from something that happened to him in his past, a soldier, but covers this up with compulsive way to behave, you know? He’s a compulsive talker, he cannot stop talking. He is very fun, but at the end you can see the funny ways he has, they are like a shield to protect him against his own misfortune in some other time. That’s basically what the character is all about. A very lonely guy, very solitary, he could be sad if I performed him in another way, but I tried to bring a lot of light and fun.

Sounds tight. Hopefully, this Expendables will feature Banderas in more than just glorified cameo roles, compared to previous characters such as Randy Couture’s non-existent presence and Jet Lee having to make up having his screentime cut in half in the sequel, by kicking double the amount of ass necessary with kitchen utensils.

  1. Yeah, but sadly is a PG 13, the reason the last 2 were so epic is because they were for adults dammit!
